Let’s Get Moving Together

crew

Hi Creative Moves Friends,

I’m sure missing dancing with all of you and hope that you are all well and safe at home like we are.  If you’d like to get creative and get some wiggles out, please join me and my crew on Tuesdays at 10am for Creative Moves at Home.  Once the class videos are posted on Instagram/IGTV & Facebook you can feel free to do the class at anytime that suits you, the recordings will be there for you to enjoy!  In addition, all the past classes will also be there to catch up on!

I recommend watching our Creative Moves at Home Prep video before you get started, it will give you details about what items you can gather from around your house to have on hand during class time.

You’ll find that classes will be broken into a part 1 & part 2 and all classes will run be around 20 minutes long!  The perfect amount of time for a kid & parent movement break!

You can access the videos on my Moving-Body Video Page.  If you “like” the page it helps the videos pop into your feed to remind you when they have been posted.

If you have Instagram then simply follow @amanda-duguid on Instagram or IGTV and the videos will pop up automatically on Tuesdays at 10am.

There are also “highlight links” on my profile on Instagram which you may find helpful for young and older kiddos!   “Busy Hands” is filled with ideas for 3-8 year old kiddos to keep busy and be creative while learning at home.  “Brick Brothers” is a Lego challenge project setup by my 6 and 8 year old to engage and encourage kids everywhere to get building and creating.  And “Creative Moves” holds all info and links to class videos for our Creative Moves at Home classes!

Please reach out with any music requests, I’m making all the class plans, playlists and videos with the help of my kiddos and we’d love to include some of your favorite things in our classes!

Best wishes,

Ms. Amanda, Ethan, Liam & Clara

Creative Moves Summer Fun!

Posted: September 30, 2018 in Uncategorized

We shake

Creative Moves is an energetic dance-based class that encourages expressive movement & creative play, suitable for boys and girls alike!  This class is very much a mixture of all forms of movement using music, rhythm and imaginative play to help further develop physical expression, motor skills, balance, stability and self awareness!

Creative Moves is designed for under 5 year olds and while best suited to tots that can toddle on their own, infants are most welcome to join in the fun and during our Summer Fun Dance Parties older siblings are welcome to join too!  Participants must bring a parent or caregiver along to class.

Summer Fun Dance Parties will take place on the following Saturdays at 10:45am at Sudio Nia Moves, 508 Pecore Street:

June 8, 15, 22, 29

July 6

August 17

Each class will have a different “Theme” so join the Moving-Body Facebook page to stay up to date in case there’s an option for your child to dress up for the class in some specific way.

The weekly Creative Moves Class will be back in the Fall on Mondays at 10:30am starting August 26th 2019.   For drop-in rates and class pack information visit Studio Nia Moves website.

Please email Amanda@Moving-Body.com for booking details or further information.

Dear Creative Moves Friends,

I’d like to introduce you to Clara, she’s what’s been keeping this creative Mommy very busy over the past year!  I’ve missed all my special movers very much but this little girl and her brothers have definitely been keeping me on my toes!

I was able to return to my Creative Moves teaching position at St. Paul’s School and Clara’s adapted very well to the time away from me (I’ve definitely missed her more than she misses me!).

I am not currently teaching any regular studio classes but I’m happy to announce that I’m taking event bookings for Birthday parties and group events.  So if you have a little mover and you’re looking for a fun and creative party idea, let’s chat!  Or if you are part of a Mother’s group and you’re looking for a special way to spend playgroup this week, these get togethers are always a hit too!

Feel free to email me at Amanda@moving-body.com to discuss party/event details.  These events can be booked at any venue of your choosing but I do have a great relationship with Nia Moves Studio in the Heights and they have a beautiful studio/party room space that can be added on to my birthday package if you need a venue!

Thank you for bearing with me during my year off (how is my baby almost 1!) and I look forward to dancing with you again one day soon!

Best wishes,

Ms. Amanda

Fantastic piece of theatre…

One of the perks of working for an AWESOME arts festival is the opportunity to experience a variety of interesting and engaging shows and installations!  This past Saturday night was definitely a perk as I got a chance to watch, Crocosmia a lively theatre production by Little Bulb Theatre, here from the UK.  I started by workday Saturday by doing a meet & greet with these performers and finished the evening by watching their performance and I was blown away!  Not only were they lovely people but they are a fantastic ensemble as well.  I full heartedly recommend you head to this show, you won’t be disappointed!
